i think in about a year or three there's gonna be a shitload of status changes and livejournal posts about how life sucks and you can't find a job and you can't pay these bills
i don't think the shit's hit the fan yet but it will and obama can't save this
luckily most of our families are pretty well off right?
but in the end when we can't find jobs after four years of slaving away at a university, someone needs to be responsible. never EVER forget the people who dug us into this hole. i guess what i'm trying to say is all the cats getting fat taking advantage and trying to climb to the top, that should be the same place we hang them from. by the fucking neck. people need to be responsible for this shit, and we're bailing them out instead. tar and feather these fucks.
i say we bail them out, replace the leadership, and throw the current head executives all into jail. do what japan did. clean fucking house and start over.

1. When I lived in New Jersey my parents didn't want me to go to the public schools there, so they used what little money we had to send me to a Catholic school. I remember I never really felt accepted. In my class it was just me and two other Asian kids, and when the school did Catholic stuff with all the other kids we were just put to the side. I guess that's why I dislike organized religion. It stereotypes people and isolates them. And that generally leads to choosing sides, which inherently leads to violence.
2. During junior high and the beginning of high school my parents really wanted to relocate back to China, and they wanted to send me to the international school in Beijing. I remember I vehemently refused, even though I knew it was by far a better school than Mission. My only reasoning was my friends. I would probably be at a much better college if I went there. Funny how so many questions in life end up being friends versus your own well being.
3. My brother has certain qualities that I don't have, and I can tell even though he's 8 years younger than me. He's more athletic, more resilient, not afraid of change, and cares about money way more than me. Funny to be jealous of your little brother.
4. I believe that the best comic books, television shows and movies match up right at the top with the best novels ever written. I consider The Wire the best story ever in any context. Certain mediums can accomplish things that books will never do.
5. I believe rap, hip-hop, whatever you want to call it is hands down the best form of music, ever. You're free to disagree, but rap can change the world. It can change a person, a city, a nation. It's the new generation of poetry, and I think people just can't see above all the bullshit autotune and fake shit on the radio these days (I think Kanye West is the only artist who knows how to use autotune well to actually create music). When was the last time you heard a true poet like Nas on the radio? It's ridiculous that the true artists don't get play. It's sad because 106.1 has this motto, "where hip-hop lives". They usually follow this up by playing some wackass song like that I'm in Miami Bitch trash. I'm probably not going to convince many people but there are certain albums and songs that changed my perspective so much. But when people think about rap they just imagine Wayne and T-Pain singing about insignificant crap. People need to bump some Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... some Liquid Swords, some Illmatic more.
6. That one was long so I'll keep this short, I'm going to marry a really rich girl one day. It's not even that I want to, it's just that every single time I've had my future predicted that's what it came out as. Haha.
7. There's no way to compare our current generation to the generation before us, at least for Chinese kids with immigrant parents. The shit they had to go through was ridiculous. But I like to think that later in my life I'll do something significant thanks to their sacrifices that will make up for the nothingness that I'm doing now.
8. I often times daydream of teleporting, but what's dumb is that I always only think about teleporting to get food. Like going from Fremont to Beijing to grab a late night snack and stuff.
9. I get irritated when someone lips the blunt, but I don't want to make it awkward so I just don't say anything.
10. My tolerance for beer has skyrocketed since college, while my tolerance for hard liquor has plummeted due to a drinking contest I had. Worst decision ever.
11. I feel like my self-confidence dropped when I first entered college, and has gone up exponentially since.
12. I'm way more materialistic now since I've come to Irvine. I feel like if I went to some other school I wouldn't have changed the way I dress so much. Not that it changed drastically, but there's a definite difference.
13. I think the Mafioso lifestyle is the coolest ever, most likely influenced by the music I listen to.
14. My parents always tell me that we lived in a shithole when I was a kid in Jersey, but I remember it being a pretty cool place. I guess I never noticed the roaches and rats.
15. My best friend as a kid in Jersey was this Mexican kid called Junior. I'm pretty sure that wasn't his real name but that's what I called him. I wish I knew what happened to him and what his real name was... maybe I could've looked him up on Facebook haha.
16. I respect what my dad does, but I don't think I would ever take such a massive pay cut just to work in China. I hope my views never change either, because in the end it is kind of selfish to take a pay cut just to do something you love. Money over bullshit.
17. Heaven and Hell are a state of mind.
18. When I die, if I ever do, I'd rather be cremated than being buried. Being buried is disgusting. I'd rather be kept around in a nice little urn. Maybe pass me down. Maybe scatter me. Either way it beats being alone eaten by worms.
19. I'm either really lucky or I'm just trying to convince myself, but I really like being a political science major. I think the stuff is really interesting, even though the only reason I chose the major is because I want to go to law school. I don't even know why that's my goal. When I was a kid I told my parents I want to be a lawyer because it made a lot of money and it seemed like it pleased them. And it just kind of stuck around.
20. I really wanted to do this just to see what I could come up with.

the first time we all got drunk. and jason punched signs and wellis licked my bathroom.
but shit. it's like everything lost it's magic. even when i'm having fun it's not fun. the only time i feel like i even get close is when i'm with old friends. i'm about to turn 20 in a few months and it just feels like i haven't had enough fun yet. my fun meter is maybe half full. and please don't give me some bullshit like "tom it's college! go to parties join a frat drink and get wasted!" i don't know about you, but that shit is fake as fuck. it doesn't feel right at all man. no offense if that's your shit, but damn trying to impress people while you're drunk and shit? man if i want to pick up some chick i'm not about to do it when i'm drunk as fuck. i want to impress her with ME, not an inebriated version. and then you gotta act all grown up and shit? thank god i found some friends at uci. i think my high school career was just too amazing. i can't match it man. not just the partying, just EVERYTHING. i'm sorry but i feel bad for the people who just started drinking in college and shit. cuz in my humble opinion drinking with the people you grew up with and just being a KID again
